The Citroen-Kegresse P28 can trace its origins back to the very late 1920s or very early 1930s, an answer to a programme that eventually led to the manufacturing of the Renault UE. Having lost out to Renault in this programme, Citroen offered a modified design as an AMR, Auto-Mitrailleuse de Reconnaissance, to the the French cavalry.
